Today’s consumers are increasingly interested in eco-friendly flooring. The new LVT and LVP flooring products address these concerns in a number of ways. First, by using virgin vinyl that doesn’t release harmful volatile organic compounds (VOC). Second, luxury vinyl can be installed using adhesives without fumes, and some can be installed without any adhesive at all. The big box stores will take the lowest grade 6 mil (amount of protective finish) product and choose a deceptive name like LifeProof. That same product will have warranty exclusions from damage caused by abuse, flooding, spills, scratches, abrasive scouring pads, scuffing, staining, construction or installation.
